Designer Shoots

Shoot with designer Janhavi Gupta.

For a fashion photographer to work with fashion designers is like run-of-the-mill, but I am thankful that for me its always a new set of experience whether its a veteran or a young generation designer. The veterans are equipped with ethics and detailing while the young ones are filled with enthusiasm and class. When I planned the shoot for designer Janhavi Gupta at Jal Mahal, Jaipur, I did not pay much attention to work. But on the day of shoot I am amazed to see the amount of hardwork she had done and that was the moment I realised why its not a run-of-the-mill for me.

The range was religiously crafted on the lines of traditional Indian bride, but was oomphed with glam quotient with intricate cut and slits that gave it a contemporary feel. The marriage of modern and tradition in the regal ambience of Jal Mahal made the shoot a real success.

For a photographer the play with light helps to highlight the craft detailing and in this shoot the natural lights and reflections worked as a perfect blender to create a line of images that justified the work of Janhavi. The wide array of colors, motifs and structures not only helped to make the shoot a balanced effort but at the same time creative inputs by the designer helped me to understand the logic and then execute it with perfection to justify the meticulous work by the designer.

The royal saga of Mahal and designer’s collection inspiration made it one of my favorite shoot just for its neatness, elegance and the originality. Readers, do watch out her space for some exotic Indian wear that you will fall in love with again and again.
