FOLLOW YOUR PASSION TO BECOME THE BEST FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER

Before taking fashion photography as a career I was in an aviation industry as cabin manager for 8 long years. My passions for photography made me quit my job and follow what I always wanted to do. Whether you are thinking about starting a small business or what career path to choose, it’s important that we follow our passions. Loads of people around me discouraged me not to quit my job. Told me its not easy. But, what I personally feel and tell everyone is that you should always try what you feel from inside. Its better not to regret later without trying.

YOU HAVE TO EARN YOUR PLACE, CAN’T ASK FOR BIG BREAK

In this competitive world, no one is going to give you a break because you are passionate or are very confident about your self. Work hard and shoot regularly. Try and make a good portfolio for yourself and keep your work up to date. Work hard; if your work is good you don’t need to sell yourself.

CREATE YOUR OWN TREND

Don’t follow the trends, you create them. Every industry is affected by trends. But you need to be aware of the current trends in Fashion Photography and try and incorporate them in your shoots. You may be a brilliant photographer but if you are not updated with the current fashion and style, then you might get lost on the path you have chosen. Make your work stand out and show every one around you that you are one step ahead with your won style.

STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO THE COMPETITION

Look in the mirror, that’s your only competition. You really don’t know where the other people stand on the scale . If you think they are better, that’s because they have put in hrs. of practice and commitment in their work. Instead of wasting time on going through other photographers work, its advisable try and practice. Look back at your work see the changes the difference. With more and more practice you should surely see a change in your shooting style and improvement in work. If you don’t , you are doing It wrong.

You’re not that in to social media ?

Word of mouth is still a very impactful way of getting noticed. But with the changing time , being seen on the social media platform is one of the most important point to be kept in mind for your work. As a best fashion photographer in india your ideal goal should be to have your work seen by as many people as possible. If your work is good it will noticed and shared by many , which in return will help you make a market for yourself . Try and associate yourself with quality people . try and work with a team of best makeup artists in india , top fashion stylist , best modeling agencies in India to hire the best models from the country. Its not financially rewarding in the beginning , but will help you to create a good network and a good portfolio. you will be making your way up to the top like every one else.

BE AN IMAGE MAKER

In this digital age every one around you has a camera and every one loves calling themselves as a fashion photographer . with these cheap slr available in the market and a little knowledge of photoshop , and a really great model can help out with a good shot. There is a big difference between someone who takes an image , and someone who makes it. You need to be an image maker , not an image taker. Plan the final product in your mind before you shoot. Don’t leave everything on post process . try and make a masterpiece.
